Other miscellaneous explanatory notes:

We still provide humane euthanasia for owners who cannot afford veterinary services. We count these animals on our report as being owner-relinquished animals. After the paperwork is signed, we either speak with the veterinary who suggested euthanasia, or we examine the animal and make the decision to either place for adoption or euthanize. Veterinarians refer people to us for this purpose.
